And the "finishing work": other than to make sure the mids seal well when I screw em down, it's overkill, but good vinyl practice too i guess. Undercoating Sprayed 1st. Headliner the backsides. Wire em up. Hot glue here inside and out. I'm tempted (prolly will at some point) try em off a decent amp instead of lettin the stock deck fill em with distortion, and maybe they'll hang ok in some kicks. Well... I WOULD agree w/ that but every GAWD DAMNED TIME I've tried runnin an IB setup for someone they end up over drivin the lil woofers into death/bad noises. It's like your avge shmuck (or mine anyway) can't understand that when it gets all distorted you should take some bass out and let the big speakers make the boom or turn it down rather than kill a mid with 100% distortion. In my Car, I made sealed pods and just built em like little sub boxes and even polyfilled em. I LOVE how that sounds and everytime I've done it has worked wonders even with a tiny bit of air and some polyfill you can get some decent midbass. I am NOT above cutting the backs out of these lil pods and making it more of an IB setup but It will resemble an aperiodic membrane if I do cuz I will insert a grill/screen in the back end and polyfill it just to be on the safe side. Once I get em running I will make the decision but I'm in favor of sealed setups across the board just for the sake of woofer/cone control and better transient response over output. Thnx for the idea tho, they may still get opened up we'll see.
