bkolfo4
I told both of my boys for their 10th birthday they could have a big party or a big gift. My oldest son got a dirt bike, and I just picked up a Ruger MKIII512 for my youngest boy who is turning 10. I know most will say 10 is young, but he has been shooting for 3 years. Knows his gun safety and shoots my Sig .357, Ruger P89 9mm, and .410 pistol whenever we get a chance to go shooting. str86diesel
Nice...i've got a couple of MK22/45's that I used to take out all the time to help me practice trigger control. They are awesome guns. James...skip the p-89. I've got an old 2 tone DC and the rugers have the sloppiest trigger known to man. They have way to much movement and play. I can post pictures if you wish. Kev 2k6 Dodge Ram 2500...CUMMINS POWERED - SOLD
bkolfo4
My dad bought my P89 for my 16th birthday, and I will be 40 next month. Shot 1000's of rounds through it, cleaned it 3 times, never had a problem. Maybe like many other things, they were better back then! It all depends on the maturity of your child and his ability to handle the gun and observe the rules of gun safety. I've been taking my son shooting for about 2 years myself and he's 13 now, he's shot everything from a 22 very similar to the one you posted on up to a 1911 45 cal. jbondox
Pretty cool, wish i could trust my boys, however I just found them shooting each other with airsoft guns with no protection... They are grounded for a week. I will do more with them when they mature a bit more, I figure around 13. They still want to shoot animals (birds, rabbets, cats with the nerf guns and hell even a sling shot) I am not down with that. Further, their mom as much as I love her let them get need for speed when they were 6&7 and that kind of screwed up their values. pretty nice gifts though. moh.vze.com
I was thinking about getting a 22mm pistol for the shooting ranges. How much was this one? $300 or so? bkolfo4
It was $339. They have several models from $300-500. It was this vs. the Browning Buckmark. After reading review after review, I went with the Ruger.
