vaughn
OK, my friend and I are arguing about whether or not it's bad for an amp to have it hooked up to power in your car and not hooked up to the speakers. He says it's bad for the amp to do that, I say it's not. It just doesn't make sense. To me, it's no different than having your amp on and the volume off. Can anyone settle this for us? *your mom* <- your mom is my signature! daaaaaaang!

EricR
no it doesn't matter as long as there is no speaker wire connected to it that could short it out i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? ISO
I don't see a problem man. LOL tell him to fuck off and that you want the amp to warm up to fight humidity and condensation on the circuit board and ask him didn't he know water and electronics don't mix well. LOL HA HA HA J/P but still funny. Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. just_dave
Is it really worth losing a friend over? jk. I've never blown an amp doing it. But I've never touched the positive and negative together either. 2005 Ford Explorer Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS Alpine MRP-F550 Kicker KX600.1 Alpine Type-X 6.5's And a Big Thanks to Clay of A Team Audio for the DC Level 3-12" Sub!
