Coolwazabi
i use one.. just make sure when you tune the amp you have the bass boost knob at full tilt... so when you crank it, it'll make the maxium rms power... and some amps can use just 1 bass knob if you have 2 of the same... slave/master

HHR Ed
actually cranking bass boost will most likely decrease wattage output. And usually decreases SPL on the meter. But sometimes it sounds louder to the ear, The bass bosst and bass knob do the same thing. It is an EQ adjustment usually centered at 45hz and on a 12 or 24 db per octave slope. Its like cranking the bass adjustment on your head unit. When not properly utilized, it can add clipping, audible distortion, heat, and throw your amp into protection. Personally, I like all my adjustments FLAT, so no bass boost. That is best for SPL. and I feel like I need more boost for music, I just use my EQ or head unit. And I only turn it up a tiny bit. corrie32
I don't think anyone knows what difference it makes, i sure don't. People luv to assume suff and really can't back up what they'er saying. Who really knows what a bass boast does, why even have it on the amp, if it's just gonna add distortion, heat, and clipping. Has anyone ever tested the effect of the bass boast, or are we going by what we've heard by word of mouth. Bass boost is used to boost certain frequencies in a car environment to compensate for problems found in most cars. Hell RF tells you to use their punch-eq over gain. I still use the gain on mine(Set with o-scope) with zero punch-eq though... If you don't think it causes distortion I can hook up my o-scope and take a video of how bad the sine waves square out..
