walmart has these little crossover things that speaker wires can go into.. not sure exactly what it was, i didnt really pay attention to it, just glanced at it.. said crossover and have like 8 inputs and 8 outputs..

i'm guessing that might be it.. it has knobs for frequencies.. so im guess thats what it is.. i think its made by Scoche

Last I heard, it's much better to alter the signal than to turn up the gains. So, use the bass settings on your h/u, much better for the amp. Most head units have an internal HPF so you can keep your components from producing frequencies below a certain point. I have mine set at 100 hz. Then just turn up the sub control on your head unit, or your bass boost on the amp. Bass boost and gains are different things.

A couple links to some box builds:

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

Also make sure you have enough power from your battery & charging system (alt) for your amp when you turn it up. Not having enough juice for your amp to turn into bass can cause major distortion & damage things sometimes worse than gain increases. This may be part of the problem you're experiencing.

ok, i understand what you guys are saying.. i'll pick up one of those things soon. also i'll adjust my bass hertz to 120hz on my components. that way no low lows are going through it..

I guess that would help too cuz before i was setting it at 60 or 80.. lol.. i didnt know any better..

Thanks guys. I'll get that stuff so i can turn bass up on the head unit.
