Aero Ports

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of using some aero ports instead of a slot port and need to know how many to run. Box is 35W, 15H, and 28D. Looking for tuning of around 32-35hz. Also, should I run subs up port back, or subs back port back?

for which subs??..some people go with 2 6" aero ports..the bigger the port the better..if you get a small aero port you will some likely have port noise..

correct me if im wrong

So are you trying to run around 7 cubes for a single 15 that is in your sig? If so I'd say you need to drop box volume for your first thing. I'll wait until you answer what equiptment you'll be using as far as sub, amp, and even the vehicle it's going in.

As I was desigining the box on RE's calc, I realized the port was alot of displacement. Thus the reason I asked about aero ports because I'm keepinf everything in the trunk.

Anyone one wanna design me a 4-4.5 cu. box tuned to like 33hz with aero ports? haha

Just because a Aeroport is thinner plastic, vs a thicker 3/4 inch mdf for a port, doesnt really mean that the aero port is going to have less displacement.

You have to remember that the displacement of the port is not only whatever the port is made of, but all the space inside the tube and or the slot port.

Using aeroports dont require to have "as much" port volume vs a slot port, but you still need to be pretty close.

For tuning and cut lengths goto their site for the aeroports and they have their own calc for port length
