barros57
This^^^^^^^^For that sub I would make a box closer to 2 cubes, with a port 12 tall about 2.5 wide. That was my orig plan, but orion said if the box is any bigger, the sub will blow My 93 chevy truck Orion HCCA 15's Build 6K HID's 2 orion HCCA 15.4 2 AP30001D's 2 optima yellowtops, 2 C&D 270fr's, all 3 tsunami 1/0, CS144 190 amp Rockford p200-2 Rockford p200-2 Rockford p300-1 Kole KX1 5500D -broken
windowtinter
yeah teh orion spec sheet boxes are crap give that thing the normal 14-16sq. in. port per cu. ft. and it will slamm if you want it low for a ten then tune it to about 32hz. as far as box size it depends on power but these things are hungry even with the 10" being a 3"coil low power go with 1.5-1.75 ball park and on lots of power ie.double rms go to about 1-1.25. at 32hz it will get reall low for a ten but you really just need more port and lower tuning. n8ball2013
for some reason he was talking about port displacement, not port area. the port is 9sq in of area 12" deep thus making it 108 cubic inches of port. Still ridiculously small for that sub. but port displacement only really matters when figuring out how much space you are taking up in your box. oh well guess thats why I'm confused. OrionStang
Is that box 1.2 cubes before or after sub displacement, the box looks pretty small. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Marlo Stanfield
That is very small for an HCCA... I've been running the 15s for a lil while now and have played around with them quite a bunch. From my experience they love larger enclosures and a medium-large amount of port area. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... windowtinter
you do have to remember that the 10 is a3in coil vs the 4in 12-15 but yes orion says they blow in big boxes my shop crx has 2 hcca 15's in 8.7 cubes after disp. it gets fairly loud on 4k clamped burped a 156.7 on tuff ac mic not a tl i know but still strong we did apair of 10 in a spec box a did a 146.x but you could tell it had a lot left that port they give you is a joke
Boon
The box you have and the one in that sketchup are both way, way, way off. Sorry to be so brutal but that's how it is. 10.x volts fo' life!

It's better to be honest than to let the OP see the magic spoke in the near future if he doesn't fix the enclosure. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride...
