Sealing Off The Trunk

Recommended Posts

Well ive decided im just going to move on and get the enclosure done for my subs. It is honestly going to be the easiest thing i can do for my system at this point but after talking with my fiberglasser it looks like its going to be harder then i imagined.... anyway any pointers on the best way to seal off a box to the trunk

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

the way i did it was to custom cut wood pieces around the box and seal it on the back with foam.

How sealed does it have to be? Because I know a lot of guys just build trim pieces out to the edges of the trunk, is that considered sealed?

A couple links to some box builds:

Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI,

Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150

My own car builds (current setup --- under construction):

Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors

i want it sealed as in air tight... at this point im not concerned about making it look nice i just want the function of it being air tight
