eliassami5
i didnt break in my l7 and regretted it a week later...got another, broke it in and still works after 2 years I do it to all my subs now regardless if it needs it or not, I do play full tilt sometimes right out the box but never for more than 30 sec. Break in for me usually lasts 2 weeks 91' Jeep Cherokee - The Heep Just Empty Every Pocket 96' Volvo 960 - The B◘x [sPL_4_U] HiFonics - Alpine Pioneer - Clarion Infinity - Kicker KnuKonceptz
hotshot27
my view is, it can't hurt to take it easy for a few days/week. But, other way around, some speculate that it could damage. sonce nobody says doing a breakin period hurts it, then i say why not. nothing to lose. Break in for me usually lasts 2 weeks That is exactly the same situation i had with my l7's first two did not break in and both of them messed up, then broke in the other 2 and have had them low and loud for about 8 months. I am for sure going to let my xls break in for at least a week, just to be sure everything loosens up, then bang as loud as i can go (1) Dc Lvl 5 18 (1) Digital designs M4a (1) 6 cubic foot box after displacement, tuned to 30 (1) DC 270 xp alternator (4) Kinetik 1400 batteries All 0 gauge Tsunami Comp wire

Enellz
ive always been told subs with stiffer spyers you should just so you dont break the tinsel leads this. You should always break in subs, you could risk messing up the sub. You'll also be somewhat louder, you may not tell by ear, but the meter will. 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AKA The Batmobile Pioneer 6000UB Sundown SAZ-3000D 2 Audio Q HDC3's 40' of 1/0 Gauge 2 Big Rear Batteries A 38 HZ Box KICK ASS! ALPINE408
from some one who knows how a sub works break in time is a myth the only part on a sub you can "Break" in is the spiders and those will get lose over time no matter what if you take it easy for a year or go full tilt from day one so for the break in guys what do you think your breaking in the coil??? nope it will not change unless you give it a clip signal or to much power and turn it black or fry it ....the surround? nope even tho after time it will losen up as well... the spiders??? nope they do losen up givin you a diff sound and can take a lil more power but doing this fast or slow makes no diff.. the cone??? nope it just moves no changes at all soo whats left the magnet??? lol nope it may lose some power over time but a magnet needs no break in ....all thats left is the tinsel leads and thats anouther no so whats left to break in/???? i go from out of the box to 160 db's Have you ever had your woofers blown?
