Wouldn't two amps linked to make 1 ohm have to be two amps that would do .5 ohm?

You mean linked as in strapped?

Have you looked into an AB VFL400.1?? I run 2 of them daily and have had them for almost 2 years now, so any questions just let me know.

1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... It's only getting walled off if I don't meet my goal @ SBN.

Pioneer AVIC-N2

(12) 12" RE SXs old model.... (3) AB VFL 500.1 @ 1ohm each

Dual 300amp Ohio Gen alts.... (10) Northstar NSB-125s

26ft3 @ 33hz w/ a ton of port area

156.5 @ 40hz @ dash, Db Drag style / 153.2 Bassrace

4 subs 2ohms a pair, down to a final load of 1ohm, so I would have to do a 1ohm load into the amps. As subs as a pair correct? Like I did when I had my 8-12s

4subs at 1ohm and the other 4 at 1ohm to have a final load linked with 2 amps at 2ohm

VFL 400.1 is a 4k@1 amp...

You could look into something like 2 SAZ-2000D's which would probably handle it if your electrical system was strong.

But seriously, there are so, so many good 4kw+ monos out there these days that you may as well look into one of them.

They're each wired @ 1ohm each, not strapped... They do over 4000w @ 1ohm all day long and are damn near indestrucable.

I agree with this 100%... Right now there are soo many high quality 4k or more amps out there, that there really isn't any point is stressing 2 2kw amps by running them @ .5ohm each.

Heh, tell that to the one on my bench that blew every single MOSFET in the amp except for 2 in the power supply.
