Jared420
what do you mean clipping? if you didnt set your bass boost and gain right the power to your subs can become clipped if you turn it up too high I think it basicaly means the signal isnt very clean. Someone can explain it alot better than me but clipping too much can cause the coils to heat up. theres a fine line, little bit of clipping wont hurt but too much can kill the subs. 2012 silverado ext cab ltz 24" kmc rims AudioQue 2200 Pioneer AppRadio Alpine mrx f35 4 channel Bose mids and highs Iraggi Alt + stock alt in a DC power dual alternator kit Yellowtop+stock under hood 0 gauge Knu wire Big 3 4 gauge stinger (4 chan wiring) 3 DC 10'' LVL3 with LVL4 parts
skittlesRgood
clipping means that the sub isnt moving as much as it should be but it still gets the same amount of power. if the sub cant move enough then it cant cool itself so it over heats and burns the coils. learn how to set your gains with a DMM (JL's website has a pretty fool proof demo). his sub isnt "brand new" he has had it for a little while so the theory of it being extra glue and hog wash. user is sending a clipped signal. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. Hunters21w
Is bass boost turned on at all? If so, I would turn that down to 0. Try settin the gain a lil lower and see if you still smell it. I would try to find somebody local with an o scope. 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400
