Torres
the bondo resin is ok to use, tho b-440 is nicer imo. but i will NEVER use bondo mat again. compare it to the mat from US composites and it's just plain crap. it's 'fuzzy' as all get out, and the layers dont like to separate. http://www.shopmaninc.com/mat.html this stuff is much much nicer. i have like a lifetime supply in my garage lol
mad drunx
Get white fleece so you can see how thick you put the resin on.The darker the resin the better, don't be shy.Alot of people use paint brush's to apply I don't. I like to use my hand so I can play with it more, and rub it in better.Just double up your gloves.and good luck. wunna play halo?
bumpmasterflex
okay thanks, what about the oz. mat to use. Should i go with a lighter weight and do more layers or get something more hefty and do a few less layers Dc level 4 18 ported box 6 cubes tuned to 34 htz 1.5 cubic ft. port area Big 3 done on 0 gauge knukonceptz wiring throughout kinetik in back AQ 2200d
wL<3bass
Elmers is a good resin to use if your a beginner it will give you more work time and be more forgiving if you heavy handed with the hardener. The Performer
Don't use fleece. Use Ponte. No more suggestions of fleece from here on out. Bondo brand resin and mat is supposedly pretty poor quality stuff, but for the one time project, and for a beginner, you wont notice a difference. You might have a little extra work for yourself in the end, (sanding wise) but that's exactly what a beginner needs to be honest. If you plan on doing alot of glass work, put your money into quality supplies. If you're doing a small box, or some kickpanels and that's probably the end of your fiberglass experience, I wouldn't waste my money. CERTIFIED BITCHES!!! Not being new at something doesn't mean anything. Just because a prostitute isn't new at what she does, doesn't change the fact that she still 'sucks' Click to see my build! Should i go with a lighter weight and do more layers or get something more hefty and do a few less layers I prefer to use lighter mat or cloth and do more layers...it lays down better, less bubbles, of course you lose time when you have to add extra layers but I don't personally mind.
