F430 Last Ferrari with manual

I like to drive shift stick so manaul for sure. I do like auto too but it kinda make feel bore while driving.

With all the advancements in automatic transmissions I would probably never want another vehicle with a manual.

i hate automatics i want a manuel but i think if you're payin a quarter mill for a car you should get a choice. theres just something about not having a clutch that just doesnt feel right

I think it is more because of the superiority (number wise) of the automatic than the manual....but still its all BS.

manual is better, and it is more expensive. Mercedes did the same, and it is pretty much comparable to the Ferrari.

it is way faster, and works the same way as the manual, minus the $16k for a new clutch.

also the Mercedes has the next gear almost engaged since it is split design... 1-3-5 and 2-4-6 there is no way you'd be faster, and you can still operate in AMG sport mode (like manual with higher shift RPM)

The tranny on the 360 spyder i drove today, like the masserati quattroporte is awesome also, and allows for the know it all weekend racers to not fry their clutch...

another way to look at it is how many F1 vehicles have the manual...???!!! and there is a reason for it also

The double clutch transmissions that are coming out are amazing, especially the PDK tranny in the new Porsches. I got to drive a new 911 today with the PDK in it and it's a significant amount better than the previous trans that was in it. Extremely smooth shifts(up and down) were what really stood out, which can't exactly be said about the previous auto trans in the 911s. Also the shifts are done so quickly it's incredible(much faster than any human can) and even in a "regular auto" mode it picks the right gear when pushing hard.

I've driven the 430 before with the auto trans and I really don't know how they can make it much better.. I've heard just quicker shifts and a little smoother, but the previous one was great IMO. Can't wait to get my hands on a 458 once my boss gets his in, whenever that will be. He is an avid car collector is one of the people that gets the new Ferrari's before most others do.

i undersatand where everyone is coming from with the whole autos are faster thing. its not about that 90% of the people who buy these cars are not gunna be on a track and it doesnt matter whats faster. and for me, i just like having the control over the car. yes i lkike to drive fast but am i professional driver.. no i just do it for fun and i enjoy having that control
