I mean, I'm sure I could buy my boards, components, heatsinks, etc. with most of it built with overseas parts and assemble them here. Does that mean I could be "made in the usa"?

The real issue isn't that I wouldn't want to build here, because I would in a heartbeat if I could. The real issue is our own government has made it very difficult to produce, and the consumer doesn't really give a shit if we did. Everyone would be buying that made in USA amp if they did give a shit. And you can't sit here and say you would because 99% of everyone here has an import product in their ride. It's the reality of it. This market is price driven, not quality.

99% of us won't buy a USA made amp based on price. Right? And don't say it's because I can't afford it. Bass isn't a food, you don't need it to live. That's just bullshit, save your pennies a little longer and you would have enough to afford what you want.

But that's not what people do. People take and search around for the most bang for their buck. then compare X company to Y company to Z company and weigh in who is the best for X amount of dollars.

We all price shopped the market right into the shitter. Ask Rockford Fosgate why they took all of their production lines overseas. They will tell you it was to be competitive in this price driven market.

People drive the markets, not companies. If everyone demanded Made in the USA, then we would be building in the USA. Then you would see more then a couple companies building here.

well guys i just want to tell u that the parts are made in the usa but they are shipped to china to be assembled cuz i asked my friend y my sub was made in china if its made in the usa but he said the parts are made in the usa but assembeled in china

I totally agree. We should make it so you want to build a building out of steel, it has to be made from American steel, PERIOD! Change the laws. Freakin Levi jeans aren't even made here anymore, which is pathetic. Put a MASSIVE TAX on anything imported!!!! Chinese make crap, plain and simple, crap! Working in the music biz, I see the horrible knock off Shure microphones and tons of other brands. They usually get caught, but not before god knows how many people buy their cheap, terribly made, no quality control, crap! WHEW, got a little worked up there. sorry

you guys know that we will never buy strictly american made products, for a couple reasons

1. it has been so long that we have bought asian products we are used to the prices and declare those as the "normal" price when in fact they are the "deal"

2. americans hate taxes, doesnt matter how much benefit it will bring, the word tax just brings out the worst in us

3. americans all expect to live the "american dream" little physical work for a lot of money. not everyone can be CEO's if no one does the dirty work, so we came up with the idea export the dirty work. then it just expanded

4. a sudden change will cause hell, riots galore

we are dug in a rut that none of us can get out of. if we want to have more american made products we need a cheaper way to manufacture our quality materials

which company? as I totally do not believe this. it would double the cost of the product
