Do I need neg. run of 1/0

Recommended Posts

So im gunna buy a yellow top for under my hood and two g31 optimas of this site i have the big 3 two runs of 1/0 kicker hyperflex. have the wire to do negative runs. My question is do I have to neg runs my batt. is grouned to the frame directly. and it would be in the back as well. Tring to save the wire for another project if I can. Going to order a 300 amp alt from somebody. I love tax time. thanks in advance.

I wish every body had beat so I wouldnt have to turn my shit down. Fosgate for life running there shit since I was 16 going on 15 years strong. Not stopping any time soon.

a ground should never be longer than 3 ft.... So IF running all the way to the front battery is better, how much better is it really? That and 0awg isn't cheap. I have never seen anyone run a ground from front to back, I'm NOT saying if its better or worse im just curious...

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

ive seen plenty of people do it, as well as still grounding to the chassis

are you kidding? have you seen any big build on here?

i have JUST added a negative run in my car, and im noticing that my battery bank recharges faster now. anything that can help move electrons more efficiently will be a benefit to your system.

Doing a run of negative from front to back will give you a better connection than grounding the back to the frame. Like one other person said a ground should not be longer than 3 feet, well if the current only has to travel through a huge wire that is 10ft+, it will still be more efficient than traveling throughout the whole frame THEN to the wire. Bottom line is a direct connection is better than grounding to the frame, but if you do not have the $$ for the wire to do so, just go ahead and ground it to the frame, it still works.
