Recommended Posts

depends on the woofer, I have 1 8" that is louder than most dual 12" setup's...

when you measure cone area, from a manufacturers point of view, they measure from the MIDDLE of the surround across, then do Pie

most 10s are about 55sq inch cone area, and 12s usually about 70-85sqinch

what about the kicker solobarics..

Length times width.

Example Middle of surround to middle on other side is 10in (12" woofer)

Would be 100 Sq/In.

is it me, or does IASCA's matt seem flawed?

A round 10" is close to, depending on surround, about 53.5 (+-), not 78.05.

examples:

L7 10" is 68.05.

Orion HCCA 10" is 51.6
