What size sub is best for daily use?

I have to do this for a class. I am not interested in brand names, simply what size do you feel is best for the average non-competitor who is just doing it for the block. Because I know someone will ask let's say they have a stock electrical system with a 1000 watt amplifier. The box is ported and tuned to 36Hz. and just for kicks let's say it's a dual sub set up. You don't have to use the info as far as the box is concerned I just want your opinion

12's or 15's i say 12's mainly

2 12s are mainstream, but if you have the space, 2 15s are definitely better. 2 18s are beyond reasonable space limitations for most of us.

as for op for a trunk car 2 12s or 15 is good as for an suv i like a pair of 15s depending on size an 18's always nice too
