If the baffle or mounting area is bare wood, especially the back, it would be considered unfinished. They were almost trying to help you out. I guess a suggestion would be just finish it real quick so that you will still be in the sotm running. Thanks in advance to all of the people who make this a fun thing to do.

Thanks. I thought I'd be a little different and use some crazy fabric for the baffle. Hehe. As for running one coil, yes I am. WTF, you say. Let me explain. Yes this a dual coil sub, but the second coil, identified with gold terminals as opposed to silver, is not meant to be powered. The second coil is used to adjust the Qts of the sub. This is done by using resistors of a certain value. There was a high Qts .57, medium Qts .45, and a low Qts .37 option. To achieve the high Qts option the second coil is left open. This is pretty close to ideal for infinite baffle setup. This trick with the resistors on the second coil can be done to any dual coil sub. This sub was designed for this purpose.
