MECHMAN
Just got done filming a little demo of an XS power D1400 14 volt battery installed in my 99 Silverado. For testing purposes, we set it up with the stock 105 amp GM alternator, an RD audio 1500 watt amp, and 2 12's to simulate a basic street audio system. Voltage never fell below 16.2 volts at full tilt. Vid- Quote 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]

loganberry
So I'm confused, the stock alt isn't a 16 volt alt and neither is the battery, why charge so high? Unless I missed somethinh Quote My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
zfrerichs
loganberry lol its xs powers new 14v batt. its not a 12v batt Quote Roseville, CA
loganberry
Ok but wouldn't it be bad for the alt to run that high? Or is the only difference the fact that 12 volt alts are regulated to lower voltage and the vcm makes them just like a 16? mr.p
logan is correct but in this case its only 16.4 its not a true 16V setup which would charge at like 18v lol... more power = more heat? im sure if you crank it up too high itd overheat somewhere.
