those suicide hinges could end up stronger than a factory hinge when done. i love the suicide door look. my only preference is on a four door to only do the backs so it opens up wide

Could not agree more! The only thing to consider is, if you wall the subs, you will have to do something pretty on the side of the box (like the plexy is done now on the sides) so when you open the doors suicide, you see the aww faces every where.

i totally agree that is the best way to do four door suicides

If it does end up walled im willing to bet there are some mids and high buildouts done on the side of the wall kinda like smokeys.

Rays Hummer with 16 SX12s.

4x 12" = 48". The distance between them are easily 4" (x3) gives you 60".

Wall can be done with 3 18s wide. Hummers are wider than Astros. And I did it with much less width up top.

Those new box's look like subs..

Isnt the weight of the doors gonna be an issue with doing suicide doors? Just curious, keep up the amazing build Trippi.

Nick and Ed, its a shame to see you two arguing. You are both widely respected members of this forum and you both have a TON of knowledge...shake hands and make up?? Instead of going against each other....WORK TOGETHER! Just think how great the build would be then!!

not trying to be a dick but from what I've read it seems like he might possibly rebuild it. I HIGHLYYY doubt he ran out of money/credit any time soon

I was thinking about the weight too but I'm sure they have something figured out. maybe it would be possible to put 2 hinges on each door?

It's hard to bash something in the middle of a build. People expressed concern over the roof mounted amps and I was one (hence my comment of demoee's wearing helmets lol). There were some who did bash after the fact and it's going to happen. I can see the amp def being a cause of the problems and if this is true, you will probably go through more subs and amps than the build is worth. (again nothing against the build!) I'm guessing you are already thinking this. Sucks, but thats the thing about car audio; build, build and rebuild.

Again, I'm not bashing the looks or anything and never was. I think this build is frikken sexy, but I am more concerned of the future problems it may hold or is now having.

Again, Ed, it looks great. Haven't heard it, but can only imagine! Trippi, you're a crazy mofo! Hope it all works out for ya. I like the idea of no wall, but if it can't be done without causing issues, then you have some tough choices to make!

I say get rid of all the 2500s and get two of the t15k's and mount them where the four amps in front of the box, currently are.

Yeah it was nice to finally meet you man. But I'm just a rookie on the scene..those guys are the ones who made the battle scene what it is today. That show was really nice..I can't believe how loud and clear some of the cars were. I definitely have to change some stuff up if I want to compete up there. And then the uptown setups were just plain ole ignorant..lol. How can you be about 30 feet away from the truck and still have to scream so the guy next to you can hear? You should try to get some of them on here to their build log..It would be something dffrnt for people to see. And ahh yes...the trash talking..u see how they tried to gang up on me? Lol..that was hilarious. I guess they thought I was gonna cave in from all the pressure..but it was all in fun.

Just wondering...I see that one of the subs has blown so I wanted to ask, Was it all 6 or just 5 of the subs that put up the Termlab #s? Cant wait to see more from this build!
