Mtnbikecrazy55 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Interesting to see the iPad mounted vertically, i think the music player is easier to navigate horizontally, as well as if you wanted to watch any videos, etc. But that's just my two cents, i see how there's not too much room between the two 8's that are next to it, but just sayin' Looks great though! And secondly , is that the bass knob nxt to the volt meter? You should hide it so you can suprise people:) but something tells me that this beast will supprise people even if they DO know it's coming :-D But again, looks great, just trying to offer some constructive criticism. I tried doing the iPad sideways, the thing is it kinda messed the flow of the dash up b/c I had to raise it up more and drop it down to the center of those four 8's. meaning the other stuff below would've been a bit too close and cluttered. We watched a vid on it today, it is smaller that way, but to be honest, I think Trippi is more interested in the iPod part as he has millions of songs on that thing. haha It was cool watching a vid of the hummer while sitting in the hummer. haha oh and about the bass knob... I was originally going to put it on the center console, but I wanted to keep the space the same width for the iPad, radio and VCM. the VCM was obviously smaller, so putting the knob next to it would help fill that gap. I'm symmetrical like that. lol or something. whatever. next is to strengthen and brace, as well as construct lower dash, then it's glassin time.

Yeah the iPad would work better horizontally, but you're right, it looks better vertically. Are you gonna put the three gauges back in from the previous install? Maybe in the pillar? The mount could be put on a rotating mount, that way, it can be changed between the two, now that would be awesome. There would need to be some way of locking the iPad in though so it doesn't come out when tilted.
