Trippi Posted March 19, 2011 Author Report Posted March 19, 2011 As you guys can see a lot has gone wrong with the truck. First let me state that Ric is hands down the best installer that I have ever delt with. His attention to detail is ridiculous and his creativity is mind blowing. Plus he is just a cool ass dude and I consider him a friend. He put a lot into this truck and I will never be able to thank him enough. He will always be my installer. I don't care if it's just a radio install, I will drive 2 hours to get him to do it. The truck was with him since last year and as far as I know there wer zero problems with it. And even when minor things did arise he always told me about it. So some of you are thinking why would I change up the subs and why would I let Ed do it. When he did the last build we always talked about eventually switching to T3..this was before I even heard the SMDs. We are on the same car audio team and we became good friends so I wanted to help support him however I could. The SMDs are great subs and I have no complaints about them at all..it's just that I wanted to help out a friend. Now I let Ed do the install because in my mind it was just a simple swap out. They built the subs and wanted to test them out so it made sense to me. I'm not sure what happend but now the some of amps aren't working . Smoke was coming from at least one of them and some of the voice speakers were popping. Could it have been the ride down on the flatbed? I don't know. Could it have been Ed or Ric? I don't know that either. Everybody has their views. Now I'm in a hard spot because I want to get it playing down here at SBN but at the same time I have to respect all the hard work that Ric put into it too. I do think that was foul for whoever put that stuff about the install on their FB page. That's just not the right way to handle things in my opinon. Now someone made a comment about me being wrong for not telling Ric..maybe..but it wasn't in trying to hide it. I just wanted to surprise everybody. But at the end of the day that is my truck and if I want to take a sledge hammer to it I can. So fuck you. Trippi Posted March 22, 2011 Author Report Posted March 22, 2011 Yeah so where were we? Oh yeah, so I changed the subs up. Absolutely no complaints about the SMDs. They are beast. But if ppl don't know by now, I'm just trying to support my boy Ed. Ok enough about that. Spring Break Nationals was great. I got a chance to meet a lot of ppl from here and everybody was cool. Thanks to everyone who helped us get it up and running. People were more than willing to lend us tools and whatever else was needed. Now that it's back with Ric, it's time to get busy again. The shows are coming up soon so Ric I hope you're up for it. I took it through inspection and believe it or not it only failed because some of the lights were out, tint and I couldn't turn on my high beams. Lol. No dash, gauge, seat or seatbelt questions. Hopefully I will get the same people when I go back. But then again the plan is to make this 100% street legal. New alts, gauges, Electrical upgrades, seatbelts, and seatbacks are all on the agenda. bobo333 Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 dude, i hate you... everytime i look in this build you show me more spots i could put speakers, then i have to buy more speakers and get louder before ive even finished putting the last lot in... thanks seriously though, omg this hummer is so fuckin sick, it just keeps getting better and better with every update, i wish i could come over to the states one day and see one of these big builds coz there is nothing anywhere near close to this in australia ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
