Biggest Car Audio Mistakes?

Recommended Posts

What are some mistakes you have made in the past, and learned from?

One of mine is I was screwing my brand new speaker that I got when I was 16, I slipped and poked a hole into the surround. Another one is that I didn't brace my box for my RE SX 18 and it blew the box apart and blew the speaker.

Back whne I had my old car, had an amp that did 1500w rms @ 1ohm, 600w rms @ 4ohms, sub was a D2. Wired at 4ohms to save the 55a alt. Wired down to 1ohm for shits n giggles and missed some wires, sounded like shit, realized what I had done. Gotta love seeing a car breath. D:

I think the biggest mistake people make are hacking up wiring harnesses to install a new h/u and speakers, it just means open wires waiting to short out on something isn't ever a good idea and if you were wanting to reinstall the factory h/u well good luck now. Another mistake we all seem to make is starting too small and having to upgrade in like a month to something larger and more powerful.

x2 on both of these... plus poor wiring techniques.. bad grounds, etc
