Fuzzy sound out of speakers

Recommended Posts

Alright so I have a speaker/sub combo that is powered from the wall outlet, the fuzzy interference sound is only when they are turned on and at low volume. Ive tried plugging them in to different jacks on my computer and its all the same. Is there anything that will easily fix this or do I need to buy a sound card or new speakers? Fyi its a PC not a laptop.

Also all my grounds and screws for the motherboard are all tight, so I know its not that.

Thanks

Try twisting the mini plug and see if the sound changes. You might just need a new cable.

Just tried it and nothin

Might be a bad or broken ground inside the plate amp, have you tried using it off an mp3 player or another computer to see if it is coming from the speaker/sub combo?

Crap I'll have to find that cable

Alright just plugged them in to my mp3 player and there is no fuzzyness, and also plugged into another computer with perfect clarity. I'm guessing i just need a sound card?

turn down volume in windows, and wave volume as well. Helps a lot of the time. 75-80% is a a good number to stay under.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

Often times you can configure which port does what on the sound card. Check the software for your sound card to see if it allows you to configure another port for output, if not, as others have suggested, just go get a new cheap card.
