Whenever you are looking at installing an amp just look at the max draw, look at the stock alt, and then plan accordingly. In this case the amp's max draw is 120a so find out what his factory alt is and go from there. More than likely he will just need a yellow top up front with some 1/0 for the 3.

With the big 3 , you only want to do it once...... go with the 1/0 if there is EVER a chance that he will upgrade in the future. 4ga will be better than stock but it mught choke off upgrade potential

Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister :roflmao:

I just installed my aq 1200 with a stock 80 amp alt, stock batt, and big 3 done in 1/0 and I don't drop below 13. The amp is very efficient.

under construction

I would do big three, new starter, and a batt in the back

Why a new starter?, OP- BIG 3 in 0ga, 0ga ran from front to back and atleast a deep cycle up front if u got the money throw one in back. Alot of people run XS i dont unfortunatly i got a YT optima up front. If he ever decides to upgrade beyond what hes looking at then a new alt would be a must have.

he meant a new battery under the hood. that is the first step.

and this bugs me, so im going to say it

THE BIG 3 IS NOT NEEDED UNLESS A HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR IS RUNNING IN YOUR SYSTEM

THE BIG 3 IS NOT NEEDED UNLESS A HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR IS RUNNING IN YOUR SYSTEM

THE BIG 3 IS NOT NEEDED UNLESS A HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR IS RUNNING IN YOUR SYSTEM

you guys are passing along info that you "heard" but you have no concept on how electricity works.

MY recommendation for your friends system is upgraded battery under the hood. if he has a lot of voltage drop and issues of that nature, then he should upgrade his alternator to compensate for the amperage draw.
