Xbox Disc Drive Won't Read Games...

You can fix it yourself, it isnt that hard (Ive fixed like 5), but if its new just take it back get a new 1 seriously.

and as far as PS3 peeps, I know 3 people with PS3's that burnt up for no reason and wont play games within the first year after purchase and sony wants $150 to fix-- F that PS3's have just as many issues as Xbox's (besides the original 360's) and MS offers way better warranty. Hell the newer 360's never break anymore. Any the NEW Black 360 w/ built in WiFi MS has been quoted as saying it will NEVER 3ROD.. it cant tech display red lmao , but also the parts are much better. / end off topic rant

Fix it if its out of warranty - 1-2 hours max

If in warranty, take it back youll have a new one in an hour :P

lol. if you can adjust the laser, that'll be the easiest and cheapest way to fix. next up it to replace the drive. but don't think its just plug and play like a normal drive you got rip the firmware off the drive. get the unique drive key. and spoof the drive key to a new drive before you can make it work in the console

Or you can just replace the laser... Was a $3 part when I did mine.

I just bought one of the cleaner discs that you stick in and let it run....I didnt believe it would work but it definitely did. I havent had that problem since.

Or you can not bump an ancient thread.

The thread is a month old in a section that the main page still displays back a month. Way to be a n00b and try to sound like a hard ass when people help you.

You're "ancient" reply might be ok if the thread was two years old and twenty pages back.
