Integra_boomer
I went to one of my first spl competitions yesterday and learned alot of stuff. I finished 3rd in my class hitting 141.4dB on like a 43hz sine wave with the cvx. The thing is now people are saying my box is tuned to low. Its tuned at 34hz which i planned originally for music, so now i need to build a box with a higher tuning. What freq. do you think i should make the box this time and do areo ports and slot ports do the same thing? I was going to try an areo port directed to the cab extending out from the box b/c the box i have now is 3.5 cubes with port displacement and that barely fits. Any suggestions would be great. kirill007
Try tuning it to 40 hertz as a start. You need to just experiment with port tuning and box size. Eric B
Test your resonant frequency and go from there and buy like 6sheets of MDF to make alotta boxes and test, test, test til you find what your car likes... Eric B
ok. a higher frequency make that much of a difference in spl? Every car has a different resonant frequency so higher tuning can't always be a solution. Also it depends how you do your box and it position and how much space it takes up...sooo many variables... you need a termlab and lots of time lol Quote 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals

Is this true?
