I heard the Type R's have good SQ and SA12 have good SPL

Which pair would you rather have? Does the SA-12 hit the low lows good, and have good SQ? Or is it a SPL sub only?

both in ported box around 1200-1500 rms

F/s: 2 custom made boxes, for 1 12" and 2 12" hit me up I'll let em go cheap

I run the SA-12's and they are awesome, they get loud and low so I could use them either way.

Sundown. Alpine Type R is a good sub for a budget and can get pretty loud. Sundown has great products, great CS, and oh yeah they get kinda loud. My dad has the SA-8 and I love it. I'm sure the SA-12 is badass.

Overall, the SA12 digs lower, sounds better and is just way tougher in a daily application compared to a type R...Alpine makes some good subs and teh type-R was my first sub several years ago (followed by an Fi BL15 and numerous TC Sounds subs), and while it holds it's own and has it's share of fans and satisfied users, the SA12 is just on another level in my opinion
