Gerardoshighlander Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 hey guys ive been fan of the site for a while now i need some help with my 1st ride. i have an 06 highlander with some light interior mods i have a JL 13w7 sub with JL 2000watt amp to power it n a 500 watt 4channel amp but idk if i should put JL cabin speakers or some other brand. also i have the sub in a closed box will a box with a port make it sound harder or better? i have a Sony HU but i dont know if i should upgrade it or not. sorry if i sound like a newbie but this is so confusing lol

JL is all around too expensive for what you get IMO, so I wouldnt get there speakers. and yes building a ported box thats well calculated will probably get louder but im not sure if the W7 will like it or not. When comparing amplifiers, use RMS numbers. Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above.
