Help! Engine Noise in new front speakers

Hey guys,

I just installed front jbl p660c components, and rear jbl 6x9's connected to a 4 channel amp. This morning I turn my car on and notice that the front speakers are picking up the engine's noise. When I rev it gets louder etc. My crossovers are in the glove compartment, I ran my RCA wires in the passenger side kick panel (where my sub RCA's are already) and the actual speaker wire through the center console to the trunk. Did I do anything wrong? Just wanna fix this problem asap, as it is very annoying at low volumes!!!

yeai get this too i gues its just crosstalk between wires at the amp, just do what i do, TURN IT UP TO FUCK!! lol

Most of the time noise is introduced from factory wires ran near or parrallel to crossovers or speaker wires. Move both items those are bad spots unfortunately.... a lot of factory wires in both places. If you come across factory wires you can't avoid make sure you zip tie the wires in a "×" formation to avoid introduction of noise. Also I don't see a reason why you can't run your speaker wires with your rca's.... usually almost always what I do...

Well when I ran my speaker wires down the middle console, I zip tied them along the car's existing factory wiring harness...I'm going to try disconnecting it and putting it on the other side of the shifter in the middle console to separate it from the car's wiring harness. Hopefully that will help! Also for the crossovers, I'm going to try to insulate/shield my glove compartment from any other wires to minimize disturbance. Unfortunately I wi have to wait 2 days until I'm up north with y dad to do it all guess I'll put up with it for now.

Use copper tape to insulate places like glove boxes, just stick it around the inside to hopefully get rid of most unwanted noise, they use it in guitars to stop it.

Do you have a Pioneer HU ?

You could have blown one internal pico fuse.

Try to ground your rca's output on your HU. That can help with noise issue.

i run my speaker wires with my rcas and remote wire, then power wire on other side and have no problem in engine noise

i mounted my crossovers to my kick panels just to save on speaker wire, i dunno why someone would want to put the xovers at the amp and run 2 sets of speaker wire with each side to the front for a comp set, vs 1 set of speaker wires and then off the xovers at front

but anyways u can run speaker wires with rcas, thats how mine is and i get no noise, oh and what kinda rcas are u useing?

i went from those blue stinger "shealded" rcas with some kickers and it made a big difference, im going with my knu rcas when i rebuild tho

how big speaker wire u running with your comp set? i kno it doesnt make a difference but im running 14guage for mine cause it has to go from back of car
