I mean i dont have nightmares about it or anything i guess for me it was hard to pull the trigger because of the fact that these people that i killed were willing to die over things that were not even worth it. Pulling my gun and using it was not what messed with me and it doesnt mess with me. I respect your job and the duty that you do, but this is the wrong forum for you to vent. You should be privy to a ton of shrinks via the Job. And you asking that here if it is true, is showing you need some type of support. You should seek the help of a professional. You know what... I consider it an honor that someone would want to vent to US on this forum for this type of matter... I do agree with seeing a pro for this, but most departments have onboard doctors for just this reason... But, it also helps to vent to people you may consider friends... But, with any other post, you are open to the trolls be ready for what some poeple will post... Yea i have a tazer but that shit goes on the window when a gun is involved. Tazer is a prerequisite for someone out of control or that has a handheld weapon like a knife or something. The scary part is I dont get paid for my work as a cop im working in an auxillary position hoping/waiting that a paid spot will open up. Also im nervous because im supposed to be shipping out for the Army in October so im scared that may F**K with me too. I can't imaging what went through your mind, but I agree, a tazer would not be my first weapon of choise in a forcible felony... Not only was YOUR life in danger, but other people that may have been around the scene because of stray bullets and such... If someone has the balls to pull of gun on a LEO, they would not think twice about endangering somoene elses life... You are a hero bro... You don't know how it would of or could of turned out... or who's lifes you actually saved besides yours... Don't let anyone tell you less... I have plenty of friends that are LEO's and every single call can turn fatal, no matter how miniscule the violation... Thats my opinion...
