My first truck was a 90 Chevy(except stepside) just like the one you've got. It's still one of my favorites ever, and I'd still have it had it not been stolen. I had the 454SS mirrors on my truck but I like your idea. Looking forward to seeing the progress you make on it Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. My plan was to get an actual 454 truck but here in LA they are freaking expensive and you see them everywhere.So when My bro bought this truck I knew I had to make him sell it to me. Once it was mine I went looking For a engine and I came upon a 383 Stroker. IMO a 383SS truck even tho is not the only one out there is gonna be kinda unique.I'm just stuck on whether to carburate or keep the TBI for the 383. We had a guy around here that ran a 502 in his with the ugly work truck front end(but he at least painted it white to match the truck) and it was pretty wicked. My buddy rear ended a Monte Carlo and went to the salvage yard to get pics of his front end. They had it parked RIGHT next to the 502 truck(which we hadn't seen on the streets for quite done time). There were wonderful black smoke marks from an engine fire on the hood with bubbled paint. How in the world can you get away with a bored/stroked out 350 in California? Here in LA most Smog shops will hook you up for a lil extra $$ Like I told you earlier I wanted to get the 454 because I thought BBC > SBC but after I rode in the car that had the 383 my mind was changed instantly. I was going to do my 1st gen s10 gun metal grey on top and satin black on the bottom. Most shops discourage the use of flat and glossy paints together, But all the samples where dead sexy. Looks good so far bro!!! Keep up the good work. I think the only issue of using both satin and glossy is that you get that hard line separating the two colors, otherwise I would've gone that rout too. and thanks for the kind words.. So yesterday morning I thought I would go work on it for a while over the w/e. as soon as I go into my garage and open the cabinet where I keep my tools I notice must of my tools are gone. I asked my bro and my pops if they had seen my stuff and no they hadn't for a while. Me and the family went to Vegas on labor day w/e for a couple of days to celebrate my sister's b day, I think someone knew this and took advantage of the situation. I know for sure its someone close to my family because I have 2 pit bulls that would prolly kill any stranger before they got anywhere near my garage, so it had to be someone that frequents my crib often. This is the list of the tools that I'm missing. Sata 4000 spray gun (retail for $700 but I got it for $550) only used once to test it out. Devilbiss spray gun (got online for $200) used this as my primer gun Touch up gun that Ive had for like 3 yrs now ($100) BNIB dewalt buffer ($180) Orbital DA sander that I got as a gift from my bro (guessing like $150) All come out to almost $1200 So until I get a job I wont have the cash to buy new tools to finish the truck.
