So I'm looking to upgrade my electrical system for my 07 Tahoe, and I was wondering if yall would know roughly what it would cost. Im looking to start putting money away for it and need to know what i should be shooting for. Thanks for the input.

It's costing me $60 for mine but I'm using knu flex wire which is kind of high priced and also new battery terminals account for 20 of that so $40 is probably a safe price including wire, lugs, and maybe a fuse if your using one.

My fault, i didn't make myself clear enough. I meant along the lines of a new alternator and battery(s). I am planning on eventually putting in a btl or something along those lines on about 2500 watts. Id rather have a strong electrical system before i put down for the stereo my car couldn't handle on its own. I thought maybe a high output alt and a new battery, but i don't really know alot about electrical systems. Is that more clear?

do the big 3 first, about $30-$40

dc power alternator around $500

the biggest powermaster battery you can fit under the hood about $300.

you should be good with that. if you still have voltage drop you should look into a second battery in the back but that should be more than enough

Lol. Just following suit. Cqtama is pretty close with those numbers. Alternators vary in price though depending on amps and brand but atleast $400 up to $6-700 and I do recommend a HO alt with over 2k watts if you want to be able to play more then a song or two without huge voltage drops. But a good alt and big battery can handle that load all day.

How big is your stock alt? Like 110A?

I say you won't need a new alt for 2.5KW.

Too many people on this site saw Steve put in a whole load of alts (he does actually need them with 30KW) so they go and do big electrical upgrades where they aren't needed.
