Guest MegaloManiac
Maybe you could offer a better location for the normal car (not for those with a wall)?I've been considering a good place to put everything, so it really would be appreciated. dont you have a tahoe. this faq is meant for the people that mount them under the front seats, i thought that was understood. sorry bout that i know that a lot people are running amps under that backseat of the tahoe, in an amprack of course, but usually the ground it to the chasis or run another run of wire back to the battery. as said its just a guide, its not mandatory, Edited August 10, 2007 by MegaloManiac
meade916
this should be called "dont mount AMPS under the seat" not "anything"......there is a few things that can be hidden well under there like various "brains" and things that wont get hot. For XM, alarm, tv tuner, and other various "slim" electronics, i think mounting it under the seat is just fine. As long as you got "clearance, Clarence".....you should be fine I agree though, i wouldnt mount an amp under a front seat under normal situations. Aaron813
My buddy had a fire in his blazer because of the way the power wire was run under the carpet and got cut on the seat brackets it shorted out and caught the casing on fire some scary shit right there nice find
meade916
....your boy didnt use a fuse, that was his biggest problem. His second problem was his install. A good installer wouldnt leave the wire close enough to the track for it to get in the way. kingsuv
Man, I gots all kinds of things under my seats. The fronts have a brain, processer, sirius, ipod, tv tuner, headrest brains, and a strobe controller. The backs each have an amp, then I have a DVD changer, CD changer, VCR and video swicher. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

XtremeSPL-SCAMMER
ive never had to worry about dumping in my accord i was very anal about that car. i didnt have ANY food or let my kids eat in it even lol x2.. minus the kids part.. and i wont have anyone in my back seat since i dont have a back seat.. hope for all that area to be encloser space.. but i plan on putting all my amps and wires in the back hatch area on a rack for easy tunning and adjustments.. kinda hard when shit is under the seats IMO EDIT: Well and the accord part too.. i never had an accord.. but i never allowed drinks in the car unless it had a lid. and if you spilt in my car you didnt ride in my car..
