BanginOnABudget Posted November 14, 2010 Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 i personally say just thrown the port on the side and have both subs in one chamber. if you do it with a piece down the middle you are going to have to re-design your box anyway, if you use 3/4 MDF you are going to lose 3/8" of port area per side, messing with your port area, as well as tuning, and output. im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt. I'm looking at that pic above and basically its like the port was split down the middle and pulled out. If you put it back together it would be 43 long ,and 5 wide.. Maybe im wrong though. Well going in a trunk car, facing forward I like the idea of the port in the middle, and every box ive had has been a port like that and it's not how I like it sound wise. 2006 Nissan Z Track. Torres Posted November 14, 2010 Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 the length stays 43". when the port splits down the back of the box, you half the 5.5" measurement to 2.75". when it's all said and done, you want to be able to measure down the middle of the port and get 43" in either direction.
