SnowDrifter
As the title suggests... Does this amp honestly have 10% thd?? Or does it have less at say... 10,000w and only distorts to that extent when pushed to the limit? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Playa Named Joe
What you mean only? I wouldn't run 10k rms to my subs with that. I think .9% pushes it to the limet. 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
SnowDrifter
What you mean only? I wouldn't run 10k rms to my subs with that. I think .9% pushes it to the limet. I mean that, in re-phrasing the question: Does it have relatively low thd up to X wattage, then when it reaches the limit, goes to 10%thd? Basically... Is it a fine amount of thd except for full power? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
TeamHT
are you guys really worried about 10%, lol Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
EricR
are you guys really worried about 10%, lol Well being that most amps are rated 1% or less, yes I would be hesitant to buy an amp with 10%. The same reason I don't like AP amps, they do rated at like 100% THD. Kidding, but its alot more than 1%. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? TeamHT
Lol, I think too many people worry about THD and don't have a full understanding. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
AMI CUSTOMS
It means that it will make XX amount of power at 10% THD, AQ rates there amps similar to this, it is a more accurate way of rating, giving you the true rating of the amp.
