Your build looks like its off to a great start. Its good to see a new person who is willing to listen to some of the vets on here and take the advice given. Cant wait to see more of this build!

Hey guys...

I built the port today at work... and Ive got to say... I didnt realize just how big it was going to be... ported boxes I see around my area dont have 1/4 of the area this port has....

Anyways... camera is dead so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow...

Sadly enough, I wont be able to get the drivers installed tomorrow... didnt have time to pick up the extra sheet of mdf today...

On a better note... I was looking around on here for ways to brace the box and not take up so much room and I saw alot of guys using all thread.. which we stock that at work from 3/8 up to 1-1/4" in diameter... so I talked to my boss and he let me snag a few 40" pieces of 1/2" along w/ nuts, flats, and locks... I'll still need a 2x4 or 2... but not nearly as much as I would have... plus.. cant beat free.

dude if you have access to the all thread stick to it. the 2x4 is going to eat up box space.

Looking forward to more pix. Gotta love how these trucks (Hoe's & Burbs) sound with a hatch full of subs, especially when they are 18s.

Well... no baffle yet...

However... I got a little gift from fedex today...

And some port action...

Anyways... I cant use the 1/4-20 t-nuts... the holes in the subwoofers are way too close to the surround on the drivers for that... the biggest allen bolt I can use is a #10 which I dont have t-nuts laying around in that size...

The woofers will be firing up... would machine or sheetmetal screws work? My last drivers, I pulled the screw head through the thin basket on more then one occasion... so I dont know if I trust them... Suggestions??

Another quick question....

Ive been seeing that a lot of guys are running their driver leads to bolts on the box to make wiring a bit easier and less jumbled...

Is there any problem with doing this? It would be much easier then trying to cram to 8ga. wires into the terminal block on thd drivers...

I'm gonna pull the box out of the truck while at work tomorrow and get the port installed... and IF I can talk my boss into it.. letting me go pick up the wood for the baffle... we'll see.
