kickass audio
Okay, so today my little 12" Kicker SoloX finally called it a day and died. i still have to check if its both coils that are blown but im sure it is since my Stetsom 2k6d is going into protect mode when i turn the music up a little bit. but im looking to get myself a 18" Ascendant audio SMD if it fits my box (im sure i can find a way to make it fit) but the way my box is setup i will have to leave my solox in the box disconnected to have it serve as a passive radiator type setup (even though the box is vented) do you all think that this would be feasable? (NOTE: i will get rid of this box when i get with meade sometime and have him make me a custom box) Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. 2004 GMC Envoy1 XS power S3400 batt under the hood and 4 XS Power D3100's battery installed in the rear by the amps0 gauge power wire from front to backAlpine iva-w205 touchscreen dvd/cd/mp3/ipod/am/fm/gps headunitSundown Audio SAX-200.4 amp for my mids and highs8 gauge speaker wire from amp to woofer270 amp Mechman AltRockford Fosgate T1652-s component speakersRockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 sound processorRca's from Rockford Fosgate and Monster Cable14 gauge speaker wire for the mids and highs1 18" Ascendant Audio SMD Dual 1 ohm with custom Black & Blue carbon fiber and hand signed dustcapBox: 5.66 cubic feet net volume box tuned to 30.13Hz with 1.5" wide wooden dowels and 1.5" thick baffle1 DC Audio 5.0k amp wired to .5 ohms nominal with an imp rise of 1.35 ohms for the single AA SMD 18"Future Vision 8000k 50w bi-xenon projector HID's with 4300k 35w fog lightsLink to my build: Buildupdates/progress

nCOMP1337
i understand the LOLs now prolly be best to build a box specifically for the SMD it might work as a hold over til you cna find someone to build a box if you wont do it, but meade is way to busy to build boxes for people i would think

kickass audio
I intended it to be temp. And I don't intend on having just meade do it. I meant that id love to have him make it. But I will make a bigger box that's for damn sure. It wouldn't work all that great at 2.5 cubes. dugee81
no no no i would not run a SMD in <2.5cu ft with a 12" blown solo X as a passive radiator on ~2.5k watts, sounds like a disappointment sorry. 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
UnderLoK
Yea man that's what I did. I had 3 12" MTX and ditched those and just tossed my 18's in it. Those subs ran sealed though and the SMDs need ported so I just cut some holes in the box to tune it in. No but seriously, you need a new box.
