hdorre
I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab for Christmas. It has a 7 inch touchscreen and runs on Android 2.2, Froyo. Out of curiosity, I held it up to my dash to see how well it fit. It actually looks to fit perfectly- Im debating whether to get the tablet fiberglassed into my dash. Ill end up putting a case on it, so fiberglass wont actually get on the tablet itself. I have this wireless syncing with iTunes over wifi and can have it charging in my car, so Im not worried about being able to remove it. I have one 'problem' regarding the headunit. My tablet will be mounted to where the headunit would be, so im debating relocating the cigarette lighter and mounting the headunit in the "slot" where the cigarette lighter was. As for wiring, I would wire the headunit as usual. I'd connect a 3.5mm cable from the headunit to the tablet. I'd also have the tablet charging using Samsung's cable and hard-wiring it to the starter battery. I may install a switch for the tablet's charging wire. How does this sound to you guys? Any problems/advice?
