Interesting lil unit. I would try to make it as physically small as possible. The proto is as big as a portable o-scope. If it fell in the "under $100" range, I would probably buy one. Anything more than that, and I would get a "cheap" o-scope (around $120).

For me personally, portability and cost are the two defining factors. Keep it simple, no bling.....it is a tool. It doesn't need to be fancy when only pulled out for 15-20 mins. It just needs to do the job, and do it right.

Other than that....decent concept. Hope it becomes a "must have" in an installers toolbox.

i cant wait till this thing goes into production, it looks awesome and if it stays under 100, itll be even better, as much as i want an oscope i dont feel like shellin out 300 bucks for one

Yea it is a one trick pony, but it's how well it does that one trick. It is super easy to setup and use, it's easy to read it does all that at a fraction of the cost of an Oscope. It will pay for itself the first time you use it cause you won't be replacing blown equipment when your gains are set correctly.

Not exactly. You can still blow your amps even with gains set correctly.

I thought clipping leads to blown woofers, not amps.

If the gain is too high on the amps it will also be drawing too much current. Could over heat and fry components within the amp.

It's called low voltage. And you can have your gains set 100% correct, no clipping at all. But you drop into the 10's and so long mr amp.
