If by sound you mean the sound of the VC former hitting the pole piece because the whole cone assembly looks to be moving side to side, then no, I can hear it too.

Well new scopes I've been looking at are around 300... So anything under that is more affordable lol. Because of it's simplicity (being able to only do one thing) compared to an

Oscope with a screen a bunch of different probes and a bunch of different settings and uses that nobody ever uses, I don't see it costing nearly as much. But then again it is a product that the manufacturer/ owner wants to make a profit from. Either way I'm sure it will cost alot less then an oscope.
