I was just wondering what the battery life is like on the new units?

X2

Its a good question but no one wants to touch it?

On the battery life: I've designed special circuitry that turns the unit "off" when it's off, meaning its not "sleeping" its actually very much off. So if not being used the battery would last as long as if it wasn't plugged into anything. When being used it depends; if it is just "on" but no signals are being examined it should last around 15 hours continuous. When signals are being injected into it, the run time would be less because the DD-1 is doing more work. If used in a shop for 10-15 minutes at a time, several times a day, it should last for months.

We didn't design in a rechargeable system in order to keep costs down, and put the money into the design in more important places. If used in a very busy shop there is nothing stopping anyone from putting a rechargeable 9V in it, like this one My link Note however that rechargeable types have less capacity than a standard non-rechargeable alkaline battery, so it might have to be re-charged often.

That is a wise decision Tony, it iw more important for the tools blueprint to be top than the power source though it is important none the same, i would rather it work better and die that work half ass and last forever, IMO

You'll probably have better luck in the pre-order thread unless the thread's been closed again.

On the main page scroll down to audio innovations.

EDIT: It did get locked. Give me a minute. I'll find out.

EDIT2: Add $7 to the price.

I got the chance to use one of these thanks to Ric of PCA. Real shit. It was so easy to do. I'll say it took 10 minutes to do because I have 4 amps and and I'm running active. Play the tones, roll the volume or gain and look for the light... Just as easy or easier than the videos that have been posted. Even though I've already got my system distortion/clipping free, I'm still gonna buy one. I highly recommend you guys get one. Thanks Ric for letting me use it.

My system does sound alot better though. I used to not play my music past vol 24 because the mids would start sounding like dookie. I knew my HU WAs good up to 29-30 so I'd have to turn my fader towards the rear so that I could get more volume from the subs without blowing my mids. Now it's all gravy. Long story short I was cheating myself.

For anybody that hasn't had a chance to use it....

I told Steve I tuned some systems up with it at the show... I counted 11 setups... pretty cool. You are right... it is super easy to use and setup with... infact the more I use it the faster I can do it... Ask Chase... I believe it was under a minute. He was like... "that's it?" lol

I believe everyone experienced distortion detection (as TWISTEDCHILD420 says) clapping.gif and said they could even notice a difference (except chode... I set his up then he still touched it before the meter got to it dry.gif)
