So sometime this week I am going to head into town and see if I can get my hands on an axis ii xp at gander to check it out and if I like the way it feels I will probably make a purchase two weeks from friday, I did look around locally for ammo and 06 is a hell of a lot more prevalent than the win mag, also about half as much. So I think that I will go with the .30-06 savage axis II. The II has the accutrigger, which I hear is very nice, it comes with a weaver scope which retails for 100. Figure maybe down the line I can replace the stock, or at least glass bed it.
