notorious97200
You can forget the rear speakers if you're going for SQ ! You won't hear the rear speakers with the bass. Stereo is left-right, no rear needed. Get a set of these PG rsd something, and install them right, with sound deadener and don't forget to seal the "holes" in your doors. save for a small amp for them, and they will shine. Quote black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3 ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

What's a good way to seal the holes? Is cardboard + deadener effective enough or is there a better thing than cardboard?

He will definitely hear rear speakers in a hatch. If he was going for sq he wouldnt know where the bass was coming from.
