When i first got my CNC there was nobody really to teach me anything. The tech at Baileigh showed me some stuff but i learned most of my tricks through good old fashioned frustration, broken bits, wasted material, long days/nights and a bone yard full of rejects. I am still not where i want to be and there is tons i DON'T know yet. But i do know a lot and my little tricks (for this brand machine) work good (for now). When i saw Doug got a similar machine, i knew i had to jump in and give him some tips to make his life much easier. Maybe save him a $60 bit or 2. I probably broke or ruined more than i want to talk about. My ratio is getting better though . Anyhow, his handheld controller is different than mine. Mine looks more like the one on his Plasma machine that he also bought. But we figured it out, kinda. The first thing we drew was a circle and a square. Then we learned more "complicated" tool paths like "area clearance". We made a quick little counter-sunk speaker ring. It came out just as expected! So after hours on the phone, we hang up and he is off and running. The next day, i see he has taken the knowledge i have bestowed upon him and used it for something useful, like a big wooden dick for Rafa's mom. SMH. LOL

Experimenting with some idea's that i have had for almost 15 years and i think i am on to something cool. I actually did this years ago but didn't have any way to make the housings (for the magnets) and i didn't want to make them out of wood. Now that i own a CNC, the sky (and my imagination) is the limit. What you are about to see is subject to small changes as well as some big changes as i make a few different versions of this in the coming month. I plan to have these ready mid August. If you have a box you would like to take out every day, this will work great! Before you say anything, just know i have already tested this up to 1600watts and there is NO difference with this terminal vs. a direct wire connection. I was very pleased. I suspect i can take it MUCH further than that and i will test it (and prove it with the AD-1). Please remember this also, this is a prototype! I am going to make it nicer before it sells...i will also offer it with 12ga AND 8ga OFC cable. This way you can save a little bit and not everyone needs 8ga. Also, before you say it, i plan on making the AMPLIFIER side neo-magnets countersunk and the speaker terminal side will stick out some. this way you don't run the risk of the wrong side sticking to the side of your car with the amp on. I already have the drawing fixed i am just waiting on materials. These products are made from raw flatstock and hardware at SMD HQ.
