  1. People just hear about you pulling impressive numbers with 4 18s, and others doing impressive numbers with their equipment and think everything is so much easier. Just because Pete K did a mid 150 with 2 15s walled in his Isuzu, everyone thinks thats what they can expect out of their car. If you post up you have 4 15s walled in a car on Petes forum, and you dont say you're doing like a 155, you get flamed. Even though for 4 average 15s and a 2,000-4,000rms in a wall wouldnt realistically be anywhere near a 155, they still flame you just because someone else has. Theres alot of people who run 4 BTL 18s in a box similar to yours, and arent anywhere near as loud, even though they were expecting it. They think that just because you do that it means they can. For instance StratusRT01 over on ROE was doing like a 150-151 in the kick with 2 10" DDs in the trunk of his car. Everyone started building boxes like his and doing big trunk installs thinking they were going to get similar results. It doesnt work that way. All these people hear is crazy numbers, because the people who meter well for what they have post it over and over again, and then everyone else is impressed and posts it over and over again. Its like they just expect equipment to do much more than it really does on the meter. Ive been to more sanctioned DB Drag/IASCA shows then I could even remember, been to SBN a couple times, and been to a ton of local audio meets. Hell, Ive even ran the TL and metered all the cars at some of the local meets. The average streetbeater isnt going to pull any numbers. Ive seen cars do a 140 with 4 L7 15s and 2 Kicker 2500s... And Ive seen a 160 in Street A with 2 10s. It all depends on the way the equipment is installed. At most shows, the person who just comes out to throw it on a meter and doesnt even know what a Termlab is usually cant even pull a 140 in any street class. Yeah, it wouldnt be very tough to pull a 150 in a Explorer in Street B or C, but the average guy has no idea how SPL works or what a 140 even sounds like, much less a 150, and even much less a 160. Im sure his buddy got 2 Kicker 15s and a Kicker 2500 and hes probably doin around a 143-144 in reality and he told everyone that its doin a 157 since thats what the shop told him. Then he hears a system a little louder, its automatically a 160+. So yeah, people are retarded. Its all because they read too much crap on the internet and dont go out and see enough stuff firsthand.
  2. If you want a design, I charge $15. Just send me a PM if you want to buy one.
  3. Like new, bought from brtnborder a while back. Used them in my room off a JVC boombox... Worked great. Probably only seeing 10-20rms each. They are SVC 4 ohm. Sound great too. Only reason Im getting rid of them is because I can use the money elsewhere and they are a little too much for my bedroom. Even on the lowest bass setting they still overpower all my other speakers. Since these are a little too much and I can use some money, they gotta go. Looking for $120 + shipping for the pair. Id like to not seperate if possible. No trades, please. I got refs if you really want em.
  4. Thats pretty shady, but I say she just posts a bunch of naked pics of herself in the 18+ forum. All problems solved.
  5. Thats not world record cone area... I know the Boss Demo truck from way back was rockin 60 15" subs. Thats 10,000+ sq in of cone area.
  6. Its not really that difficult to fit 40 subs in a car... Just depends on the lower subs. In the early 90s there were a couple guys around here running 40 10s... One was sealed the other was a 6th order bandpass. Keep in mind these were in S10s.
  7. Ive heard some Tlines... They are built for smooth bass, not loud bass. More of a sound quality deal than anything else. I really dont see 1 sub in a Tline being louder than 2 ported.... Just doesnt make sense unless the box wasnt right. And be very careful on the power. Keep in mind that a Tline isnt an "enclosure". Its a waveguide. It just lets the rear soundwave fully develop before exiting. So the reason that you guys are able to run a bunch of power to these subs is because the extra suspension created behind the sub because of the air pressure in the box. With a Tline, thats just about gone. Id suggest building a box for 1 sub first and see how you like it before going all out. Its just a completely different sound. Very smooth down low and very punchy. Just not the "in your face" loud that people associate BTLs with. I personally wouldnt ever put an SPL sub like a BTL/MT/SoloX/etc in a box like this. What that type of sub is built to accomplish and what that type of waveguide are designed to do just arent the same. One of them just isnt right for the other. Kinda like the wrong tool for the job if you get my drift. My comparison would be putting tires meant for a smooth ride on a drag car... Yeah, the tires are real nice on cars and give a great, smooth ride, but its just not what fits. You would need the widest, stickiest tires you can get. My advice is, if you're bored with ported, try a bandpass. Much more efficient.
  8. You can do 24 12s sealed or 12 15s sealed no problem As everyone knows, 24 12s gets the fuck down in a hurry. For just a loud musical build, cant go wrong with 24 12s in a diamond or clamshell.
  9. I thought that it would be fun to try an Extreme class build but then I remembered: 1) Way too much work. 2) Way too much money. 3) Dont have a vehicle for it. 4) Dont know the first thing about how they do what they do. So thats a no go for me. Well if this is going to be a musical build... I guess concrete it if you want. I honestly wouldnt bother pouring concrete on the floor of a musical car or anything else thats below 170dbs... Really doesnt make much sense. Just deaden the hell out of your doors, stick a piece of MDF onto your roof, and get a brace from the floor to where the windsheild meets the roof. You gotta decide what you want to do with it though. If you want it to Bassrace, it isnt going to be competitive in SuperStreet. If you want it to be competitive in SuperStreet, it isnt going to do as well in Bassrace.
  10. Yeah, just not enough room to even fit 6 on the face with the dimensions you gave me... Even then, not enough airspace. A super solid box with 4 15s is what you can fit properly in those dimensions.
  11. Well theres just not enough room back there... Ive heard them in smaller enclosures and they work pretty well also. Optimally, they do great in about 10-11 cubes for the pair, but there is no way that will happen. It would be loud, but really only excep on alot of bassheavy music. From what Ive seeen with the L715s is that a decent sized box tuned a little higher lets them play everything. It also takes alot of the muddiness away and makes them alot more musical and tight sounding on all types of music, but still really get down around 40-55hz.
  12. Well both make killer batteries... Cant go wrong either way. I have 10 HC2400s right now, but Ill be switching to Powermaster later on when I have the money. Goin 16v. One of the main reasons is because Kinetiks team pricing is so damn expensive now. It damn near doubled. Honestly, for how much the new Kinetik pricing is, Id rather just go with 16v Powermasters XS1000s and be even louder.
  13. Ok, design is finished. You have PM. If you're satisfied with everything, spread the word for me. Trying to do this to make a couple extra bucks and the more designs I have, the more cash.
  14. If you even glanced at the rules, you would know that modifying anything in front of the B Pillar would put you in exreme. Dont even bother. Just take the 15 (Im guessing since its in your sig) and try a StreetMax or Superstreet build. You can do basically anything as long as the cabin foward of the B Pillar isnt reinforced. For instance, on my upcoming build, Im going to have 3/4" MDF stuck to my roof pannels.... Even though it will just be a musical groundpounder, It would take me out of SuperStreet 5+ and put my in Extreme 5+. Start small... Try a Street or Streetmax car first. People just dont jump into Superstreet/Extreme.
  15. If that was designed with the RE Calculator, it will work, but wont be exactly the specs it says. I can do box designs for $15, with full cutsheet, sketchup, step by step assembly pictures, etc. Ive been doing a few on ca.com and everyone seems pretty happy with them so far. Anyways, if you're interested in a design that is CORRECT (ex BassBoxPro) send me PM.
  16. The TI Pro is the same 4HP as one of the TC 5400s or 5200s... Not sure which, never really followed TC.
  17. Its not any more retarded than cutting your chassis just to make your car sit lower... Or cutting out your fender wells to sit lower...
  18. Just buy the 6 BL 15s and run the single PA A2400B to it for now... With that much cone area it will still be loud even with like 350rms each. Then when you get money just buy the amps you need.
  19. Honestly I think RF stuff is way overhyped and overpriced. Just go with the Clarions... Maybe look into Crossfire also.
