You might want to check though cause I've never dealt with the CP amps, I know they put out their top RMS at any ohm load thats why I say if you strap at 2 ohms both amps will be seeing 1 ohm therefor the regular amp should be putting out around the same as the CP amp.

If you strap them at 2 ohms you should be fine

Keep the ipod connected, turn it off and leave it off for about 5 minutes then turn it back on. That has worked for me before.
