  1. That box looks like it pounds, especially with them subs Iam interested in that 3/0 ;D Is it flexible at all? I tried reading that PDF file, I couldnt compare that good to 1/0 to the 3/0 Just that its about 100 or so lbs heavier at 500meter rolls
  2. sweet install... what would have also been really nice, is to have painted the grills, rings, and amp white to match the interior but, nice ;-)
  3. King took it right out of my mouth... Bcae1... descent info, and at that, info on Everything.... LEDS, to how amps work, to box designs, to cross over designs
  4. we didnt have enuff to splurge on christmas this year, so we concentrated on the girls. Got them cash, and gift cirtificates. My gf got me a router 2 weeks before xmas, and I got her a vacuum, and some soft, comfy sketcher , damn, what are they called.... in door shoes... other than that, I can careless what I get too
  5. everyones right, and I did extend it a little bit, and anyone can modify a speaker for personal use, but what I guess I was getting at is more on the REsale part... And to get a "OEM" driver (blank driver based on a -On the market woofer) that is not illegal, because it was sold as "BLANK" do what you want with it. Sorry I kept escalateing it higher, and higher, I was just making a point. A Customer Can do what they want with the woofer, the salesman cannot. A stereo shop cannot get a JBL/Crown amp, and put a logo on it saying "Budget Audio" JBL will drop thier line from that store FAST, anyone that has worked at a shop (with the sales reps) will know about missrespresenting brands... Anyways, Iam done... But like I said, nice video, nice box, glad you liked the speakers -minus that gay AA dome job with the slightly inverted paper dome that doesnt catch the glue bead right, that is a issue with AA's domes. Ive personally used the same domes and they can pop right off
  6. Exactly Ray, Alumapro does that from Factory. I dont know why this came to a new thread. That was gay.. lol Bottom line, Its not right... I have done it to, BUTTTTTTTTT...... I use aluminum inverted domes with NO Label, thats what I use when I would get a old SFX sub, SS sub, and and TOLD to do by the company I work for, "I will sell you these subs, they were laying around, the companies never picked them up, or they were Over runs, just dont sell them with the brand logo on them" Thats a no brainer. Also, patents on speakers, say the motor design on the XXX/MX RE subs, imagine decals on that from some internet company.. RE would sue, who thinks they wouldnt? Like I said, it IS a 50/50 thing.... I just brought up "internet company" logo on a name brand subwoofer with a patent Part on that speaker, thats some serious law breaking there, but true, a person buying a RE XXX/MX and throwing on his car club stickers, not a bad thing, as long as its still known as a RE XXX/MX speaker, and logo is on there only to show that Carclub respresents RE (RE only an example)
  7. Iam a Rocky fan, I love the inspirational work outs ;D But I just dont see a 60yr old getting in the ring with younger guys.... I will wait till its on STARZ, or MAYBE PPV
  8. yes, your definitley right Accord, but who knows, I didnt know if this was just a kept in trunk car system, or takin it to shows, if he got the subs direct from AA, ect.... I know if I sold some of my subs to someone, and next thing I know, they got some stereo shop logo domes on, Iam never sellin that guy subs again, Id be pissed... And you know what, it has happend to me before. I sell OEM subwoofers for a side income, I get some bad ass stuff, and when I try to push MY product, and its represented as something else, it is frusterating, because where is MY speaker being represented at? Gotta look at it from a Company stand point also. It is 50/50 how you look at it. But it is still illegal to SOME extent, not like jail time or nothing (not that I know of) I cannot think of the term, but it is in the books... just think of it from all points of views And I finally seen the vid after like 40mins of uploading, nice video ;-)
  9. Hey bro, just a heads up, thats pretty illegal to do the dome thing. I know people at both companies, mainly the AA side, and if they seen the Fi domes on the AA subs, they would go ballistic.... Just thought id post that, you can delete this after reading it... But The AA subs are definitley Niceeeee subs, I know first hand ;-)
  10. My girls is making red/green/blue (xmas colors)tomales, ofcourse the beers (Corona/Tequiza- Yeah Tequiza, that shts my fav) And enchilada pie- which is Lasagna style enchilads
  11. Theres about 3 ways I would do that system. Using ALL 6 1) Sealed walls do sound good, Ive heard some nice walls sealed off, that pound great. 2) 3 seperate enclosures, 2- 12"s verticle, and port faceing up firing towards roof closest to the back wall 3) ported wall
  12. Iam with Dale on that one. Bypass the remote, hook it up to ignition, then use a relay, if that doesnt work, THEN its the deck tweekin out.
  13. 60? holy sht.... I was positive about 50..... Who would ever think someone at the age of 60 can even act boxing
  14. Sly is cool and all, but time is due to break a hip
  15. Iam a fan of Memphis, as a consumer, and as product sales, and support. But from what I have seen, and read up on, DD, and MT/BTL are amung the most popular, and proven... but as said above, its based on install, power, and how the speaker is treated
  16. SACRAMNETO FOR THE MUTHA FKIN KILL! IMO and Iam from San Jose orginally, just moved out here, and everyone is in to thier systems. And there are hella shows here, but not everyone wants to compete in DBDrag, and that alot of times involves haveing 1 dedicated car for competing
  17. << 31 goin on 32 in 4 months, not that bad up in the 30s I skipped page 2, haveing any beers for your bday, or gettin laid? :clown2: :clown2: :clown2:
  18. Thats fking awesome.... Iam sure at this rate, 2mill would be possible this time next year... I wonder who that 1 person was in Greenland, hmmmmm
  19. sorry there was a 5hr delay between posts, I had to drive daughter for school orientation for second semester. I posted more pics, but I guess I logged off before they finished uploading. But unless you contact JBL tech support, finding recones for those speakers will be damn near impossible... If you did recone them, outside JBL, the specs will be all off. Cone weight, surround desity, cone Fs, and Spider Fs/newtons, vc weight, winding width, wire gauge, former type will be all off. But for speaker tear down, you will need a nice clean box cutter. -alch or acetone, shop towels, double sided tape popsicle/coffee stirrer sticks- all for cleaning the motor, No dirt or debris can be in the VC/magnet gap A plastic caliper with digital display, and a height pin on the caliper, so you can measure the VC proper height setting Got to ruff up all glue surfaces for best glue bondage BTW, if anyone wants any, I have about 30- 10" carbon fiber speaker cones, rubber surround 2" vc opening, and about 225 12" Carbon fiber/rubber surround cones for sale :whistling:
  20. <<<< Votes on the 360 for just about anything Signal wise
  21. I personally havent ran PA amps since the 90's, but the PA, and SS are pretty much built in the same factory, so if you can trust a Soundstream, you can trust a Power Acoustic And I just wanna say... lol... I love that Mr T vid... haha
  22. 1) a spinning turn table you can use to lay down perfect beads of glue on the speaker 2) proper epoxy (some people like CA cuz it dries fast) and rubber based glue for surround/dome (Ive used black engine RTV and works damn good) 3) shims to pefectly center the coil, gap the coil from the pole piece/ top plate -If you have calipers which is a must have, you should have shims that are .010" 0.020" 0.030" 047_47.JPG_thumb 048_48.JPG_thumb 049_49.JPG_thumb
  23. Thats a waste of marble mannn... It would be my end table by now
