Yeap, push pull... That is why they use such small boxes. They use the other speaker's motor strength to help the other cone get more xmax from a small box, because of the other speaker is in a larger box, it moves a lil more freely, if that makes sense. They basically just help eachother out. They usually play a more of a rumble type bass, as apposed to punchy. That Box design, I think Iam going to make/ modify the port to work with SS Exact subwoofers. Should be tuned lower..... 4-12s in a 20"x31"x14.5" box, that should be sweet ;-) but will actually go up to 39" wide gain middle box airspace for lower tunning..... Lets see what BassBox6.0 says

Well, that is a bandpass, so the charicteristics are wierd. I personally heard that box, and it plays plenty low, its far from a spl box- well, it can be, (Design is based around 1995 alot has changed) but is based more on BoooOOoom, than BAMM BAMM BAMM.. hehe BTW, I have about 150 SS pictures/designs

Good idea, those Pioneer shallow mounts, the Blaupunk Over drive, and the HZ neo shallow sub. There is definitly room for sub there, just stuck doing some fiberglassing, and alot of tight corners

if they were both 1000hp, a big clunky big block 427, with 800-1000hp matched up with same hp on a half the weight v6/I6 twin turbo, and Iam sure the Skyline is a few hundred lbs lighter, but still, that Linger has a 0-60 of 1.6/1.8sec, and a top speed over 200mph.... I think the Skyline has a weight advantage, and the awd advantage, but the Lingen is just faster on the line.... Ofcourse american cars are great on oval tracks, but the Skyline would kill the vette on street race, or where the race has lots of sharp turns... But I think the topic was based more on realistic raceing, stock to stock, or moderate upgrades... And I thought a true Skyline was illegal in US? It is in Cali last I heard

That Lingenfelter will killllll the Skyline, but factory fresh, Id go with a skyline, only cuz well, I hate saying this, but its more reliable.... And I hate imports... better gas too I bet But again, that Lingen..... Allll balllss, but if I remember, what $150k upgrade? damn

As far as learning how to SPL, I would also read up ALOT on math formulas, like 1/4 wave knowledge will help alot, knowing just what freq to tune your car to, and WHY. Not just port it, and hope it sounds good, or Loud. Then learn all the braceing, reinforcing techniques, damping of the walls, box. Check out how Meade did that wall in his Civic, I never seen techniques like that before- He came out sick on that

That just looks like a simple woofer design, common mag/frame/spider set up, then they put an over kill coil in it, that will rip the rest of the speaker to part.... 16gauge is serious in VC terms, but yeah, its not impressive towards the VC- Motor ratio
