  1. Turn your computer off. Turn it back on and start tapping f8 until you get a boot menu. Select safe mode. Viola.
  2. try booting to safe mode and running your antivirus. Also try running malware bytes in safe mode. http://www.malwarebytes.org/
  3. From another forum: "For the DVD bypass I used a Momentary Pushbutton Switch, Normally Closed, rated 0.5A at 125VAC, 0.3A at 50VDC. The part number is 275-1548 at Radio Shack. It's like 3$... That was for a pack of four. Run that green wire(thats supposed to go to the e-brake) to one side, and then run a wire from the other side to a grounded connection... I actually ran this wire to a bolt on the e-brake! Turn it on, push the button, and it should work. Let me know if you have problems." ( http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f45/pion...ns-18128-2.html ) Should only cost you 3 bucks.
  4. I would not go with AMD right now, they have been performing much lower than Intel as of lately. Used to be that AMD was more bang for your buck, but that isn't the case anymore. Intel is also going more towards 45 nm, where AMD is still at 65 nm. Would go with core 2 quad of your choice ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....Core%202%20Quad ) and paired with an Asus P5Q of your choice ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....2&name=ASUS )
  5. Pretty sure any version of Vista with SP1 will recognize 4 gigs, and now XP with sp3 will also see 4 gigs.
  6. No kidding. I remember when I started driving gas was at about 97 - 99 cents, and I was almost enraged at it going above a dollar. Now less than 3 dollars is a premium.
  7. you wouldn't really be able to shrink the size of a laptop as it's footprint is dictated by the size of it's motherboard pretty much already. You would only be able to save the space of removing the frame. Which is why most people use mini-ITX boards for carputers, it has a much smaller footprint. As far as hard drive vibration, using a laptop harddrive would work best due to its anti-shock capabilities. For monitors, I have heard alot of good things about lilliput touchscreens - http://www.lilliputweb.net/ Could probably find one on e-bay.
  8. It looks like it was a unregistered charter bus going to a casino, and yes the driver was arrested for supposedly DUI. http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_10651378?source=most_viewed
  9. My co-worker is a huge cubs fan, and has a cubs background on his computer. With their recent failure, I decided to make him a new desktop.
  10. Yeah, and in St. Cloud you guys have that "gas bank", where some people pre-bought so much gas, they are still filling up at less than $1 a gallon. Hell, I would purchase a few grand in gas when it is below $3, because gas is always going up.
  11. Gas is falling :-D http://www.startribune.com/local/30510594.html http://www.twincitiesgasprices.com/ Less than 3 bucks a gallon in places locally here.
  12. Would probably be better off using a mini-ITX motherboard... or nano-ITX or pico-ITX if you want it in a smaller amp. Size comparison: http://tinyurl.com/3o9a47
  13. Always thought this one was funny, specially the disclaimer at the end.
  14. Good luck trying to keep your doors open to get out of your car while parked on a hill. Those doors are BEEFYYYY!!! Looks good ;-)
  15. So you don't even need a real SSN to get a job or open a bank account...... interesting.......
